Post by Keifer1972 » Tue Jul 09, 2019 1:04 pm

My pulpit on my new project L17SL is badly bent causing the furling drum to rub on it , has anybody got one available ?

Hi Keith

You are most unlikely to find a second-hand pulpit, they were all made to the specific pattern for the 17SL. However all is not lost!

Best approach is to find a local stainless steel fabricator, preferably one who has a part 'marine' business. They can straighten most bent tube, and if beyond straightening they can cut and weld in new pieces as required. My experience is (I had a bent pushpit and pulpit when I bought my boat) that after they have finished repolishing etc. the joins are virtually invisible.

To fabricate a new pulpit will likely cost in the region of £500, but a repair will be much cheaper.

All the best

Colin
