Leisure 20 for sale

Post by Roger Crockford »

“Leisurely Lady” is now sadly to be sold as I have purchased a Leisure 23sl.
I completed a minor refurbishment on the boat when I bought it two years ago and have had great fun with it on the Orwell in Ipswich, Suffolk which is where she is still afloat. Other than a good clean, tidy and some minor Maintenance the boat can be sailed away and is in good condition.
This is as fair a description as I can give:
All complete (see photos) roller reef head sail in good condition. I have no idea how old it is but it all looks good and works well
The main is well used but in really good condition. The genoa is original and the sail is fine but the UV strip could do with replacement. The current head sail on the roller is more of a river gib and is again well used but in good condition
This is a painted finish that is the only part of the boat that would benefit with work. It might be that a good clean and a buff would sort it out but no doubt at some point in the future it will need repainting. It is currently perfectly serviceable but not concourse
4 hp Mariner two stroke long shaft in good condition. The engine cover was not with the boat when I got her so I made the ply cover seen in the photos which would now benefit from another coat of protection
A new storage unit was made and installed for both port and starboard
All cushions covers replaced along with new scatter cushions and the interior is looking really nice.
The boat had a partial retire with all navigation lights and internal lights working as they should. A 16A flush mount was installed in the cockpit with a new consumer unit, 240v plugs and lights with USB outlet. A new leisure battery was installed in a new battery box with isolating switch. Sadly the ply panel that the new solar panel is mounted to now requires replacement as the “marine” ply was clearly not up to scratch
New cockpit cushions were purchased and covers made to match the ones inside
Depth and log are new installed as is the plastimo compass

If you need any further details please do not hesitate to text/ call/ email and I will do my best.
As I am keen to sell the boat I would want to price it sensibly and was therefore thinking about £2950. I would strongly recommend coming to view the boat and could arrange either lift out or delivery if paid for in advance at a very reasonable rate.
